How they help your pet

  • SIGNS OF SKIN AND COAT PROBLEMS IN CATS

Some common signs of skin and coat problems in cats include:

    • Hair loss

    • Flaky or scaly skin

    • Redness or sore-looking skin

    • Scratching

    • Licking and/or chewing their skin

    • A dull-looking coat

  • THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING YOUR CAT'S SKIN & COAT HEALTHY

Healthy skin and a nourished coat are both signs of a healthy cat, inside and out! In addition to giving our cats their good looks (strike a pose), the skin and coat have some important jobs to do…

    Protection
Your cat’s skin and coat provide an effective barrier, protecting their internal organs from external threats. Just like humans, our pet’s skin contains a phenomenal number of nerve endings that help our pets detect temperature, pressure and pain. The coat also helps to protect your pet against UV light. This is why breeds with shorter coats are more prone to developing squamous cell carcinomas (skin cancer).

    Immunity
The skin is an important part of your cat’s immune system. Keeping their skin intact and healthy creates an effective barrier, helping to defend against bacteria, viruses and all other sorts of nasties that would seek to make them unwell.

    Temperature regulation
Fur is a great insulator! A healthy coat helps to keep your pet at the ideal temperature by either moving hair follicles to bring them closer together, trapping heat close to the skin, or allowing air to enter to keep them cool.

  • HOW SKIN & COAT TREATS HELP YOUR CAT’S SKIN AND COAT

Specially formulated to care for fur and the skin beneath it too, these treats are made with gloss-giving omega 3, rich with EPA and DHA to help reduce flakiness, and packed with zinc and biotin to pep up sensitive skin and make even the dullest of fur coats catwalk-ready.

  • SKIN & COAT TREATS FOR KITTENS

Kittens can also benefit from our skin and coat treats! These can be given from 12 weeks of age. They're packed with all sorts of goodness including Omega 3, Zinc, Biotin, vitamins and minerals.

Treat your kitten in moderation (even if they tell you otherwise) in combination with feeding them a high-quality pet food, formulated for their life stage.

The combination of ingredients in Itch Skin & Coat treats are great for improving skin and coat condition. Omega 3 helps to calm and soothe itchy skin so is especially useful in allergic or irritated pets. Zinc and biotin are essential components not only for healthy hair but skin and nails too.
