How Itch Wormer Treatment Works

  • WORM TABLET INGREDIENTS

    Triple-Action Worming Tablets for Dogs
    Febantel, Praziquantel, Pyrantel Embonate.

Kills roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, whipworms and larvae in dogs digestive systems by being absorbed through the worm's surface and paralysing them. They’ll then make a swift exit via your dog’s poop.

    Double-Action Worming Tablets for Cats
    Praziquantel, Pyrantel Embonate.

This blend of powerful ingredients kills roundworms and tapeworms by paralysing the worms in your cat’s gut. This means they can quickly and easily be evicted from your cat via their poo (lovely!).

  • WHERE DO WORMS COME FROM?

Most gastrointestinal (GI) worms will squirm their way in when your pet accidentally eats worm eggs or larvae. "How would my pet even eat worm eggs?", we hear you ask! Well, it's pretty gross, but it's usually because they’ve ingested the faeces of another animal which had worms living in its gut.

Many GI worm eggs aren't infective straight away after being passed in poo. It can take a little bit of time - and that's why it's SO IMPORTANT to clear up your cat and dog poo. It's vital to help reduce the level of infection - and cut those pesky parasites off before they have the chance to infect new pets (or people - yep, we’re not safe from them either).

We’re sure this goes without saying, but always wash your hands after clearing up your pet's poo…

  • WHAT ARE THE MAIN TYPES OF WORM THAT CAN AFFECT CATS AND DOGS AND HOW?

Itch Wormer for Dogs kills all types of intestinal worms commonly found in the UK: roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, whipworms.

The most common worms in dogs are roundworms and tapeworms.

Roundworms are the most common type of parasitic worm found in dogs in the UK. These worms are long and white in appearance and steal nutrients from their host (your pooch - gulp). While the initial infection starts in their GI tract, roundworms can work their way into your dog’s other tissues and organs.

Tapeworms in dogs are long and flat in appearance. These parasites live in the small intestine and latch onto the intestinal wall, absorbing nutrients as your dog is digesting their food. When these worms are excreted, the body of the worm can break into segments that resemble grains of rice.

    Itch Wormer for Cats

There are 2 main types of gastrointestinal worms which pose a risk to cats in the UK - roundworm and tapeworm.

Roundworms are the most common type of parasitic worm found in cats in the UK. These worms are long and white in appearance and steal nutrients from their host (your kitty - gulp). While the initial infection starts in their GI tract, roundworms can work their way into your cat’s other tissues and organs.

  • HOW TO TELL IF YOUR PET HAS WORMS

Symptoms of worm infestation in your dogs and cats can include abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, weight loss, dull or lifeless fur, and sometimes even anaemia. In puppies and kittens, large numbers of worms can even cause blockages on their insides, which sadly can be fatal.

There are often no early signs of worms in dogs or cats whatsoever. They could be setting up camp in your besties guts and you wouldn't have a clue until it was possibly too late - scary stuff, right?

Worms can be a threat to people as well as pets - especially young children or those with a weakened immune system. One worm in particular you don't want a child crossing paths with is Toxocara - if infected, this can cause serious health conditions such as blindness and epilepsy.

Stop the wrigglers taking hold with a regular dose of dewormer! Itch Wormer worming tablets for dogs and cats keep your pet and your family safe.

  • HOW TO GET RID OF WORMS IN DOGS AND CATS (AND PREVENT THEM COMING BACK)

The best way to keep yourself, your family and your pet safe from worms? Give your pet a regular dose of dewormer! We can recommend the most effective frequency of worm treatment for your dog or cat depending on what you tell us about their habits and lifestyle.

PSA: Did you know your cats and dogs can get worms from fleas? That’s right, your pet could accidentally swallow a flea mid-grooming sesh and if that blighter is carrying tapeworm larvae, they’ll be in your bestie’s guts and multiplying before you know it.

Itch Wormer worming tablets for cats and dogs kills all common intestinal worms and can be given directly into the mouth or in a small amount of food.

Never give your pet's wormer to any other pets - the dosage could be incorrect for them, leaving them at risk from all kinds of nasty illnesses. A subscription to Itch means we'll always tailor the dose to your pet. We'll personalise the pack so you never get a one pet's pack confused with another.

  • My pet is pregnant, is Itch Wormer safe to use?

We advise against using Itch Wormer for pregnant cats and dogs. We recommend speaking to your vet if you have any concerns about worms in your pregnant or lactating cat or dog.

  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DEWORM MY PET?

The best way to keep yourself, your family and your pet safe is to give your dogs and cats a regular dose of Itch Wormer! Monthly wormer treatment is recommended for pets who love the outdoors or eat raw food because they're much more likely to get worms. Children under 4 and the immunosuppressed are in danger from a dog or cat with worms, so monthly treatment is also recommended here. All other pets will be recommended a quarterly wormer treatment programme.

  • HOW CAN I GET MY PET TO TAKE THEIR WORMING TABLET?

Itch Wormer comes in tablet form and can be given whole or crushed, with or without food. As pet parents ourselves, we know the tricky realities of getting anywhere near your pet with that round tablet! To make life easier, for dogs, we suggest a wrapping of cheese or ham and for cats, crush with the back of a spoon and sprinkle over their favourite dinner. This can help the medicine go down.

  • CAN ITCH WORMER BE TAKEN ALONGSIDE OTHER MEDICATIONS?

Our cat and dog worming tablets contain a powerful blend of active ingredients to kill all common intestinal worms and prevent newly hatched larvae from growing and multiplying.

We recommend not to use this product alongside Piperazine, which may be found in other worming products. Please speak to your vet before combining Itch Wormer with any other medications.

  • IS YOUR PACKAGING RECYCLABLE?

We want to do our very best for the planet we share with our furry sidekicks. One way we can make a difference (and help you make a difference, too) is by keeping sustainability top of mind when it comes to the way we package our products. If there’s a way to make our packaging even greener, you can bet we’re on a mission to sniff it out…

Itch Flea and Itch Wormer both come in a recyclable box which can be disposed of in your home recycling bin. The foil and pipette for Itch Flea and the blister for Itch Wormer aren’t currently recyclable (but we’re working on it). Itch Flea Home Spray has a polypropylene lid which can be recycled at home, as can the aerosol can (location dependent). Our treat pouches are 100% recyclable, ink included! They can be recycled at large supermarkets, or check your local council for kerbside recycling.

For Itch subscribers, after month 1 we’ve ditched Itch Flea’s excess packaging to save on waste paper. You’ll just receive our flea treatment in its sexy foil jacket. This change alone means we’re saving 13 tons of paper waste a year.

  • CAN I ALSO ADD FLEA TREATMENT TO THIS PLAN?

Absolutely! Once you get started, we’ll make recommendations for your dog’s personalised wellness plan. This will include Itch Flea. Given in combo with Itch Wormer, this will give your pooch total parasite protection against fleas, ticks, worms AND lice.
